April is for Arts is a month-long celebration of the diversity of arts & culture in North Mecklenburg. This project was made possible, in part, through a Cultural Project Grant from the Arts & Science Council and the Grassroots Program of North Carolina Arts Council (a state agency). In addition, there are a number of wonderful sponsors (see below) whose contributions and support have helped to support our efforts.

Please join us in Davidson for the following events:
Benches on the Green
April 4, 2009 10am to Noon
This is the second year for this event that will partner area businesses with artist coaches from the Creative Art Exchange to transform unfinished furniture into masterpieces! Davidson businesses will enlist coworkers or collaborate with other groups (think Brownie troops, youth groups, etc.) to help in the creative process. Join jugglers and face painters on the Green, partake of refreshments, and enjoy the show. These decked out benches will then be placed throughout the town as a visual reminder that April is for Arts. (Children’s Community School artists show off their Rocking Chair 2008)
